Things I Have Learned Post Pregnancy

So I gave you my list of things I learned while I was pregnant and I think my list of post pregnany things is just as good.

1. My body will never look the same
2. Someone should have warned me you can loose the weight but you can't loose your hips.
3. Night feedings suck
4. Have a supportive husband is key
5. We will never be rich
6. No matter how quickly you want them to grow up you also want them to stay little forever
7. Babies can sleep anywhere
8. I can probably sleep anywhere now
9. No matter how much sleep I get I am always tired
10. Housework isn't that important
11. Hot meals are over rated
12. Every first that occurs requires 100 pictures to be taken
13. You can NOT spoil your baby
14. You will fall in love instantly
15. You will worry constantly
16. You may never see your friends again
17. Elastic pants are great even after pregnancy
18. Diapers should be made to hold poop in
19. Spit up can stain
20. When you think your child is done pooping he is not- wait longer
21. Boys will pee if the breeze blows
22. It is natural to smell your baby's butt to see if he pooped
23. You will start to talk funny and say silly words
24. You will make up a song about everything
25. Pets can and most likely will get jealous.
26. Rice cereal will make your baby sleep more and poop more- go figure
27. You will do anything for your child
28. Watching your husband with you baby will make you fall in love all over again
28. You do forget the pain of delivery and one day in the future will do it again.

Single Mom

No pumpkin picking for us. Rainy and cold all day.

Since Thursday afternoon I have been playing single mom. No Gene and I are fine but he went home to CT to say good-bye to his brother-in-law, Eddie, who passed yesterday. So I want to state something loud and clear "I have SUCH respect for single moms". Having to get myself and JC ready by 8 so we can get to day care and work on time is not easy. And the lack of sleep was even worse. To all single moms- I SALUTE YOU!!!

Work

Well I made it through 2 days of work last week and only cried for my 20 minute ride there, which is great when my make up was already done. Either way JC and I both survived. OK I survived he could have cared less.

On Thursday he spent the day with Jenn, his day care provider, and had a great day until he crapped all over her. Thankfully she laughed about it but I think I owe her a bottle of resolve carpet cleaner.

Friday JC spent his first 9 hour day with Grandpa. I am not sure who had more fun but I know they both slept like rocks that night.

Tomorrow starts JC's first full week with Gene. Thankfully we had a trial run while I was at drill last weekend so I am sure things will go fine.

Next weekend we are pumpkin picking so check back for photos of our hayride and pumpkin.

First Feeding with Mommy

JC got a little messier when Mommy fed him. Though I think he enjoyed it just the same.

Bumps

So I just paid $20 to find out that my child has heat rash. JC has formed little bumps all over his chest and back. Being a first time mom I was nervous but we just have to keep him cool and not sweaty...thankfully it is getting cooler here cause that's not easy in the south.

On the upside he has gained 2lbs- now weighing in at just over 13lbs.

How cute is this picture! JC is going to be a scarecrow for Halloween.

About Us

My photo
"Yankee Born...Southern Living" Christine: Born and raised in Naugatuck, CT. I moved to SC to be closer to my dad when he retired. I am a graduate of Southern Connecticut with a degree in Liberal Studies. I currently work for Merrill Lynch and Old Navy but being a mom is the best job I have ever had. Gene: Claims to have grown up in NY but he spent most of his life in CT. He graduated from Taconic Hills and then headed to Porter and Chester for a trade in automotive- that he has never used. Gene currently works at Osprey Marina and loves spending his days outside with boats. He is also training to be a volunteer fireman. JC: Is the perfect toddler...or atleast he is in my eyes. He is still on a schedule that you can tell time by. He love country music, dancing to whatever beat he can find, helping with chores, and reading.
